The intention of the WECU YOUx Program (also known as “Community Forum”) is to facilitate a productive discussion regarding WECU’s products and services and to allow Discussion Participants (or “Participants”) the opportunity to provide feedback to improve the WECU experience through direct messages, comments, or the submission of other types of content (collectively “Contributions”) to the Community Forum.
In order to use the WECU YOUx Community Forum you must agree to comply with these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, you may not use the WECU Community Forum.
Terms of Use
Material on this site is provided “as is “and does not constitute a warranty of any current or future WECU product or service of any kind, either express or implied. Content provided within the Community Forum is user-generated by Participants, and posts constitute the views and opinions of the author and not of WECU.
The WECU Community Forum is not directed toward children under the age of 18. If you are under the age of 18, you are prohibited from registering to post in the Community Forum. WECU members under the age of 18 can participate in a division of Community Forum (YOUthx) if they have a First Step Checking account and are between the ages of 13 and 19 years old.
Content. You agree that Contributions you submit to the WECU Community Forum will NOT include any of the following:
1.Content that violates any state or federal law. This includes, but is not limited to, content that may infringe or misappropriate any persons’ copyright, patent, trademark, or other secret. If you believe that material located on or linked to by WECU or another account on WECU’s Community Forum, violates your copyright, you are encouraged to notify WECU in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”). WECU will respond to all such notices, including as required or appropriate by removing the infringing material or disabling all links to the infringing material.
2.Content that discusses any illegal activities. Content that is libelous or that defames or threatens others. Harassing statements or hate speech.
3.Content that is obscene, offensive, or otherwise objectionable.
4.Content that could be confused with official communications of WECU or other community members. Further, you agree that you will not access or attempt to access any other user’s account or misrepresent or attempt to misrepresent your identity while using the Community Forum.
5.Advertising or any form of commercial solicitation. Additionally, you agree that you will not use community members’ or other user’s information that may appear in the forum for the purpose of creating marketing lists or using such information for commercial solicitation purposes. The WECU name and logo are registered trademarks. You may not use these without the written permission of WECU. The WECU trademark may not be used in connection with any product or service or in any manner that is likely to cause confusion or be misleading. All other trademarks or service marks that appear are the property of their respective owners.
6.Any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) of any person including yourself. You agree that any content that is posted to the Community Forum will be considered public, non-confidential information.
WECU is not responsible for the accuracy, originality or reasonableness of any content. WECU and its Community Forum Moderators may edit or remove content from the Community Forum at their discretion at any time. WECU reserve the right to suspend or terminate your Community Forum account without notice and to refuse any and all current and future use of the Community Forum.
Release. By submitting content, you release any right you may have in the information or ideas and agree WECU may utilize any information or ideas for its product and service development.
Limitation of Liability
WECU is not liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages arising out of or related to the content or the use or the inability to use the material on this site.
In no event will any of the officers, directors, partners, members, or other principals or representatives of WECU liable to any party arising out of, or in relation to the use of or content posted on the Community Forum.
WECU and its Community Forum Moderators shall have no liability whatsoever related to the content of communications posted to the forum, whether arising under the laws of copyright, libel, privacy, obscenity, or otherwise.

As part of the operation of WECU’s YOUx Program (also known as “Community Forum”) (or “Program”), WECU may, at its sole discretion, award Rewards through Giveaways to Community Forum Participants (or “Participants”). In order to be eligible win Rewards, you must agree to these Terms and Conditions (or “Agreement”). For more information on your use of the Community Forum, see the WECU YOUx Terms of Use and WECU’s Privacy Policy.
This Agreement, the WECU YOUx Terms of Use, and WECU’s Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between WECU and you concerning Rewards and Giveaways as a discretionary part of the WECU YOUx Program. WECU reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify or replace any part of this Agreement. It is your responsibility to check this Agreement periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to the Community Forums following the posting of any changes to this Agreement constitutes acceptance of those changes. WECU may also, in the future, offer new services and/or features through the Community Forums (including, the release of new tools and resources). Such new features and/or services shall be subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
Eligibility. This Program is open to Participants who are age 18 years or older at the time of entry unless the member has a First Step checking account and is enrolled in the YOU(th)x division.. This Program is not open to: (1) employees or internally contracted vendors of WECU or its parent/subsidiaries, agents or affiliates; (2) the immediate family members or members of the same household of any such employee or vendor; (3) anyone professionally involved in the development or administration of this Program; (4) employees or internally contracted vendors of governments and government-affiliated companies or organizations; or (5) any employee whose employer's guidelines or regulations do not allow entry in the Program or acceptance of the prize(s). Registration to use the Community Forum is restricted to individuals who reside in the continental United States and are:
a. 18 years of age or older, unless the member has a First Step checking account and enrolled in the YOU(th)x division
b. Emancipated minors, or
c. Those who possess legal parental or guardian consent and are fully able and competent to enter into the terms, conditions, obligations, and representations herein.
By registering to use the Community Forum, you hereby represent that you meet one of the criteria set forth above.
The services offered by WECU in YOU(th)x are intended and directed toward children under the age of 18. If you are under 18 years of age, you may only enroll in the YOU(th)x division of the Community Forum
Privacy Notice. All information submitted in connect with the WECU YOUx Program and discretionary Rewards and Giveaways shall be treated in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, the WECU YOUx program Terms of Use, and WECU’s Privacy Policy.
How to Participate. To participate in the Program, visit: [https://youx.wecu.com], accurately and truthfully complete the online registration form, agree to the Terms and Conditions of this Agreement, and follow the other instructions at the website listed above.
Rewards. Subject to this Agreement, and once confirmed by WECU, Participants will be able to accrue “points” that can be redeemed for reward(s). Rewards are earned through completion of “Challenges” posted by WECU administrators within the platform. Challenges can range from surveys, multiple choice options, free text submission, sharing content though social media or reading provided content.
1.Rewards will be featured at various price points and in limited quantities.
2.The approximate retail values of rewards are subject to change based on current market conditions at the time of reward redemption.
3.Participants are not entitled to any surplus between actual retail value (ARV) of a reward and stated ARV and any difference between stated ARV and actual value of the reward will not be awarded.
4.No substitution, assignment, transfer, or cash redemption of any reward is allowed.
5.WECU reserves the right to substitute a reward with another reward of equal or greater value should the advertised reward become unavailable for any reason.
6.If applicable, rewards may be fulfilled in the form of voucher(s), coupon(s) and/or gift card(s) in WECU’s sole discretion.
7.If a Participant is unable to participate in or accept a reward or any portion of a reward for any reason, WECU shall have no further obligation to such Participant.
8.WECU will not replace any lost or stolen rewards after redemption by Participants.
9.In no event will WECU be responsible for fulfilling more than the stated number of rewards.
10.Participants acknowledge and agree that rewards are available in limited quantities and reward type and availability are subject to change at WECU’s sole discretion.
11.WECU shall have no obligation or liability to Participants for any changes made to reward type or availability.
Claiming Rewards. Members will be able to claim rewards through the Community Forum by selecting available items posted. Rewards will change as availability and stock permits and with be both physical and digital good. For rewards requiring physical mailing, the member will need to provide a mailing address. Rewards can change at any time and will not be available for redemption if they are removed from the Community Forum.
Publicity. Participants acknowledge and agree that WECU may use the Program for publicity, advertising or other marketing purposes in any media, and may use the name, likeness, and state of residence and/or reward information of potential Participants as part of that publicity, without additional compensation to the potential Participants.
Taxes. If there are any taxes, they are the sole responsibility of the Participants; and Participants may be issued an IRS Form 1099 or other tax documentation for the ARV of any redeemed reward.
Hold Harmless. By participating in the Program, all Participants agree to release and hold harmless WECU and its directors, employees, officers, licensees, licensors and agents, and respective advertising and WECU YOUx Program entities and any person or entity associated with the administration of the WECU YOUx Program (collectively, the “Released Parties”), from and against any and all rights, claims and causes of action whatsoever that they may have, or which may arise, against any of them for any liability for any matter, cause or thing whatsoever, including but not limited to any injury, loss, damage, whether direct, compensatory, incidental or consequential, to person, including death and damage to property, arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from their acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a reward, or their participation in the WECU YOUx Program or any Program-related activity.
Each Participant acknowledges that the Released Parties have neither made, nor are in any manner responsible or liable for, any warranty, representation or guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any reward or the Program. All warranties are hereby disclaimed; and each Participant will accept the reward “AS IS.”
All costs and expenses, including support services, not specifically listed above as part of the Program, are solely the Participant’s responsibility.
None of the Released Parties are responsible for: (a) lost, late, misdirected, undeliverable, incomplete or indecipherable entries due to system errors or failures, or faulty transmissions or other telecommunications malfunctions and/or entries; (b) technical failures of any kinds; (c) failures of any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Program; (d) unauthorized human and/or mechanical intervention in any part of the submission process or the Program; or (e) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Program or the processing of entries.
Conduct and Decisions. By participating in the Program, Participants agree to be bound by the decisions of WECU. Any persons who violate any rule, win through fraudulent means, or attempt to gain an unfair advantage will be disqualified. Use of any automated entry device or software is prohibited. Creation or use of multiple accounts for registration or participation in the Program is prohibited. To the extent the Program uses or requires functionality of any third party website (e.g., social media sites or platforms that enable broad communications, collaboration and/or posting of videos), you understand that the Program is not sponsored by such third parties, and further agree to follow the policies on such website(s), as applicable. WECU reserves the right to disqualify any Participant it finds to be tampering with the Rewards and Giveaways process or the operation of the Program or violating these Terms and Conditions, and reserves the right to cancel the Program should it suspect fraud or for reasons out of the control of WECU.
ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE PROGRAM MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF SUCH PERSON FROM PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAM. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, WECU RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY FEES) TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
Compliance with the Law. All Participants are solely responsible for compliance with any applicable laws, rules and regulations, contractual limitations and/or office or company policies, if any, regarding Participant's participation in the Program or redemption and acceptance of Program rewards; and by entering this Program, Participant confirms that he or she is not in violation of any of the foregoing and has obtained the consent of his or her employer to participate, if applicable. If a Participant is not permitted to accept any redeemed reward, then the Participant may return such prize to WECU; and WECU will refund the cost of shipment, as appropriate.
Subject to applicable law, WECU reserves the right, in its discretion, to (a) cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Program and these terms and conditions, for any reason, at any time and without any liability, and (b) limit or restrict participation in the Program, upon notice.
Choice of Law. Any and all legal disputes between Participants and WECU or other Program entities shall be governed by the rules of Washington State.
Sponsor. Whatcom Educational Credit Union (WECU), 21 Bellwether Way STE 111, Bellingham, Washington 98225 is the sole sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to change or cancel the promotion at any time.
No Waiver. The failure to enforce at any time the provisions of this Agreement or to require at any time performance by any other party of any of the provisions hereof shall in no way be construed to be a waiver of such provisions or to affect either the validity of these Terms and Conditions or any part hereof, or the right of any party to enforce each and every provision in accordance with its terms.
Severability. In the event that any term of this Agreement becomes or is declared illegal by any court of competent jurisdiction, such term(s) shall be null and void and shall be deemed deleted from this Agreement. All remaining terms of this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
